Welcome!

Welcome to Kama's Cave's website.

On our website you will find details of all the Greyhounds currently waiting for their forever home. They all have links which will take you to our forum - this gives more detailed information and great pictures of our dogs.

Prior to any adoptions, I insist that prospective rehomers visit the kennel and bring with them any children and any other dogs within the immediate family, as they are tested with the new dog to see if they are a good match.
At this time I have an in-depth talk with the family to find out their lifestyle, hours that the dog will be left alone, etc and any particular requirements so we can endeavour to match the right hound to the right home . I point out important things to consider and send them away with printed literature to give the rehoming serious thought, I also insist that they have a secure garden with a 6' plus fence.

Following this if there is serious interest I then arrange a suitable day for both myself and the adoptive parents where I then deliver the dog and carry out my own home check at the same time, I choose to do it this way as I need to see where the dog is going for myself and with time being precious due to running the Greyhound Sanctuary this way saves making two trips especially if it is long distance. (Saying this if the environment is not fully suitable the dog would return with me.) Also at this time I will answer any further questions they may have regarding the new addition to their family.

As part of RGT policy the dogs are homed with a greyhound leather collar and lead, a bowl and a muzzle. They are fully vaccinated, flead and wormed and neutered and also come with 4 weeks free insurance.

I always offer full support should there be any queries or problems following all adoptions, and if things do not work out the dog will always come back to me.

We do ask for an adoption donation.

The area we cover for rehoming is anywhere in the UK as long as the prospective owners are willing to come to the Greyhound Sanctuary for the initial introduction and rehoming discussion.

Ann Brandon - Kama's Cave Greyhound Sanctuary

About five years ago tigger found his forever home and was very happy there until his Mum and Dad split up. they could not keep him so at the age of 10 we had to find Tigger a foster home as i knew that coming back to kennels would break his heart.

Tigger is now in his foster home and is adored by his new Mum and Dad and Perry who is the other greyhound he lives with. Unfortunately last month Tigger was diagnosed with a suspected brain tumour and arthritis. He is fine at the moment as far as his tumour is concerned but needs pills for his arthritis which are costing 33.00 per month.

Can you please help tigger and donate a few pennies you can paypal money to

We also have a fantastic and friendly forum with quite a few regular visitors who are more than happy to give you advice on all aspects of looking after a retired greyhound. We are a bit behind with putting dogs for rehoming on the website, they are just coming and going too fast for me to keep up! However, there is a good list of dogs for rehoming in the forum, along with some info and pictures.

Please if you can spare a few pounds it will be very gratefully received and the dogs will certainly make very good use of it.
